When we set about developing our new style we realised that the basic problem with studio photography is the studio. After all, sitting in a small room surrounded by flashing lights isn’t a natural environment for any of us. That’s why studio photography can look so un-natural.

If you think about it, you really want your photographs to bring back memories of the time you spend with your children and family. And that means time spent having fun at home, in the park or on a family outing. That’s why we take photographs in your natural environment where you’ll feel comfortable. And the choice of location is up to you (anywhere within reason!) so your photographs will be really special and personal to you.

Gareth’s portrait photography takes place away from the studio and on location throughout Surrey, Kent and Sussex. Examples of portrait photography in Surrey can be seen in our portrait gallery. All images in our gallery were taken on location in our clients homes and at local parks and beauty spots. This gives the images a lovely, natural feel not possible in a studio. Surrey, Sussex and Kent are ideal for portrait photography, offering a variety of beautiful locations. Our portrait sessions are very low key and feel more like a pleasant walk than a photo shoot. This is ideal for children or anyone who is self-conscious in front of the camera. It also allows us endless opportunities to entertain children and catch natural expressions as they interact with their environment.

Our photo-shoots usually start at your home with a relaxed chat over a coffee to discuss what you’re looking for. We’ll often take images while at your home as most people, particularly children, feel comfortable in this environment. We then move on to a local park, beauty spot or perhaps somewhere more urban for teenagers. Portrait photography in Surrey, Sussex and Kent is a delight as these counties offer so much variety in their landscapes and through the changing seasons.
